I picked up the Performance Ice XL Block to go with my large cooler, and it does exactly what the description promises. It is noticeably thicker than the standard blocks, so it holds a lot of freezing gel and stays cold for a long stretch without turning everything into a soggy mess. No more cooler soup at the bottom, and my sandwiches stayed dry. It takes up a fair bit of space, so check your cooler dimensions first, but for long day trips it has been a solid buy.
